A birthday wishlist you only have to write once
Birthdays come round on a schedule, so the list should not be a fresh scramble every year. Set one up once and edit it when something changes.
Answer the question once
Instead of replying to the same message from six different people, send the same link to all of them. Anything you can link to keeps its photo and price; anything you cannot, you write in your own words.
Nobody buys the same thing twice
Whoever gets there first reserves the gift, and everyone else sees it is taken. You do not — reservations are hidden from the person the list belongs to, so you can keep editing right up to the day without learning what you are getting.
Recurring by design
A birthday list is marked recurring, which means it is meant to stay put. Keep the same page, prune what you no longer want, and add whatever caught your eye during the year.
Can I keep the same birthday list every year?
Yes. The list and its link stay put; you edit what is on it. Only the gifts change from year to year.
What if I want separate lists for different occasions?
Create as many as you like. They all live under your one profile address, so a single link shows everything you have published.
Can friends see each other’s reservations?
Yes. That is the point — visitors see which gifts are taken and who is bringing them, so plans do not collide. The list owner is the only person kept in the dark.
Can I remove a gift somebody has already reserved?
You can, and doing so cancels that reservation. Since you cannot see reservations on your own list, prefer removing things you have gone off early rather than close to the day.
